Philodendron Golden Goddess is an attractive, low maintenance climbing houseplant with golden-green foliage that adds an eye-catching bright look to any room. Easy to grow, making this an excellent choice for both experienced plant enthusiasts and those beginning their green thumb journey. When grown outdoors it makes a striking trailing vine or can even be trained to climb structures – pairing well with Monstera Deliciosa and ZZ Plant for even greater impact!
Botanically speaking, Philodendron Golden Goddess is an unpatented natural golden mutation of Philodendron domesticum – a species native to Indonesia and Thailand. Other patented cultivars of this species include Malay Gold which boasts neon yellow paddle-shaped leaves; Lemon Lime features pink petioles in an even more compact form; both can be found at garden centers as well as online outlets like mail order outlets. Golden Goddess can also be purchased through many mail order outlets.
Golden Goddess can tolerate a wide range of lighting conditions, yet thrives best under medium to bright indirect sunlight. Exposure to direct sunlight may scorch its foliage; avoid placing this plant where prolonged direct sun can strike its foliage directly. In order to help it maintain sufficient moisture levels for growth and flowering, misting or grouping it with other plants in a pebble tray are effective means of maintaining humidity levels for this variety of philodendron.
When growing Golden Goddess in a container, be sure to use soil that allows adequate drainage. This plant does not do well in overly waterlogged environments and is susceptible to root rot. By choosing a mix containing plenty of organic material such as coco coir and perlite for drainage purposes, you can reduce the likelihood of harmful types of fungi while encouraging healthy growth.
Golden Goddess Philodendron responds well to regular fertilization. From spring through summer, apply a liquid houseplant fertilizer with a ratio of 1:1:1, which will provide all of its essential nutrients while stimulating new growth.
Farore, as the Creator of all living beings in Hyrule, is often depicted as a beautiful tree-like woman. She has associations with forests, wind, the color green and is represented by three tribes from The Legend of Zelda series: Kokiri, Koroki and Kikwi tribes in particular. Nintendo describes Farore as an all-benevolent goddess who appears as part of Ocarina of Time’s lower right Triforce as the lower right portion and has even been associated with nature itself!
